Oh macarons, you petit french cookie why do you have to be so friggin hard to make. do you hate me because I love you...
During the past two days I was on a mission to find a cure to my macaron disasters.. Day 1 I was over excited thinking that I was going to magically whip out a perfect batch of these crisp and meringue like pastries. Reality check. I got burnt flat pancake like things. As the day went along I figured that I needed a new recipe, but lazied myself to bed...Day 2 I googled and googled. which led me to a bloggergirl who found a recipe for macarons that uses a more stable meringue in the batter. which change my troubles a bit, but the first batch came out a little semi-sad faced. With my mind set on this recipe and after tinkering a bit(using all whites in the meringue)and promising myself to make a decent batch of macarons by the end of the day I accomplished my life long dream, well the dreams for this week. To make macarons that would satisfy any sad heart and don't they look effortless? Well they weren't..
